Downtown Seen April 2016: Launch of Toronto the Just

Dennis Hanagan—

On March 8, Heritage Toronto and Women in Toronto Politics launched Toronto the Just: Stories of Women and the Struggle for Equality at St. Lawrence Hall.

Toronto the Just—coinciding with International Women’s Day—is an exhibit featuring stories of eight women from Toronto’s past and present who have challenged inequality and discrimination based on gender, sexuality, race, class and ability. The exhibit, which included the unveiling of a plaque for journalist/author Doris Anderson, was shown across Toronto during March.
