Corktown caterer going for gold in Beijing

Kelly Jackson, local caterer to the Corktown and Cabbagetown areas since 1995 takes off to Beijing, China on July 21, 2008.

Jackson’s mission is to cook for the U.S. olympic team and coaches at the high performance training centre located at the Beijing normal university complex.

Almost all his time will be spent preparing specific meals for the American athletes in training prior to their events, and assisting in the hospitality house up until the closing of the games. Jackson hopes to be able to see the great wall at Si Ma Tai and the Forbidden City and hopefully attend a few of the events.

Jackson has requested 200 Canadian flag pins from Jack Layton’s office to give out while overseas. He will return to Canada on August 27^th.
