Once again, the Friends For Life Bike Rally rolled out on Sunday, July 27, 2008. That morning, over 300 cyclists departed on a six-day journey to Montreal in support of the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the bike rally, which has grown from humble roots to become one of Canada’s largest fundraisers for an HIV/AIDS organization.
The group assembled at Queen’s Park for some photo opportunities, speeches from dignitaries and group stretching exercises. Then they hit the road for Montreal.
The Friends for Life bike rally was chosen by the community as Pride Toronto’s 2008 honoured group and as a result, was privileged to be a lead participant in this year’s pride parade.

The Toronto People With AIDS Foundation exists to promote the health and well being of all people living with HIV/AIDS by providing accessible and practical support services. It is Canada’s largest direct support service agency for people living with HIV/AIDS. To learn more visit: www.pwatoronto.org.
