Toronto’s Catholic and Public School Boards present “Back to School Safely” campaign

The Student Transportation Services Departments for the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Toronto District School Board are pleased to present the annual “Back to School Safely” campaign.

Mall displays are being set up around the City of Toronto to remind parents and children that a new school year will begin soon, and that it’s a good time to remind children about safe practices when travelling to and from school.

Families are invited to see the Bus Safety Show presented by “Buster” the talking school bus, to hear Elmer the Safety Elephant share tips on crossing roads safely and to climb aboard a typical school bus. The Toronto Police and Safety Patrollers will also be on hand, and visitors will receive loot bags with literature for parents and their children. Staff from both boards will also be available to answer any questions about school bus transportation.

The displays are scheduled for:

  • August 24th, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall, Etobicoke
  • August 26th, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Yorkgate Mall, 1 Yorkgate Boulevard, North York

The Toronto District School Board serves more than 270,000 students in its 550 schools.

The Toronto Catholic District School Board educates close to 90,000 students from diverse cultures and language backgrounds in its 201 Catholic elementary and secondary schools and serves 470,375 Catholic school supporters across the City of Toronto.
