Rental tower pitched for Queen and Yonge corner

The city received an application to redevelop the property at 2 Queen St. W. on April 18.

The application seeks a zoning amendment to allow the construction of a 65-storey rental tower with 580 residential units and a commercial component. The development will include a five-storey heritage podium base which will be reconstructed to depict the appearance of the original heritage building that was formerly home to the Jamieson’s store, later Woolworth’s and Tower Records, now occupied by Atmosphere sporting goods store.
