Starting June 7, 2008, new public transit will begin from Davisville station to Evergreen brick works (and all stops in between). Bus route 28A Davisville will operate every 30 minutes between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every Saturday throughout the summer. This new service offers visitors a sustainable transportation option for visiting Evergreen brick works.
“This is a big step in the development of this project,” says Geoff Cape, executive director, Evergreen. “Sustainable transportation has been a priority for Evergreen since the beginning, and with this new TTC route, the site has become accessible to all.”
Evergreen has launched its full 2008 calendar of events for the site which are now even more accessible with this new bus route. Every Saturday, Evergreen’s popular brick works farmers’ market runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also on the weekends, Evergreen is holding a wide variety of festivals, workshops and children’s activities. Details of all events are found on Evergreen’s website www.evergreen.ca.
Evergreen brick works will demonstrate and promote practical solutions that make communities sustainable and more livable, and urban lifestyles healthier. Ground breaking for this $55 million project is planned for Fall 2008.
