Maritime day of action Jan. 12

The Maritime Day of Action will be taking place across Canada on Jan. 12 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

In Toronto, participants will meet at Matt Cohen Park (at the corner of Spadina and Bloor), 393 Bloor St. W. for a rally at the constituency office of Liberal MP Chrystia Freeland (344 Bloor St. W.).

Ninety per cent of everything you use in your day-to-day work and home life is transported by ship. Despite this, the Canadian Maritime
Industry and its union workforce are coming under continued attack by the government of the day. Bad Trade Agreements and pending changes to legislation threaten to destroy a proud industry that directly and indirectly employs 250, 000 Canadians.

Maritime Unions in Canada are going to STAND UP & FIGHT BACK.

To send a clear message, we need your support and your presence during our Day of Action. We invite you to participate in a “Day of Action” being organized by the Canadian Maritime and Supply Chain Coalition. Rallies in support of the Canadian Maritime industry will be held simultaneously in the cities of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

The issues to be raised at these rallies are relevant to all workers. Together, we will raise public awareness and rally against recent
‘Free Trade’ deals such as CETA and TiSA and their negative consequences on all Canadian workers. Join the Maritime Day of Action
in Toronto to show solidarity amongst all Canadian unions.
