CD release featuring Campbell/Afiara, co-presented with The Music Gallery

Launch of “As You Near Me” (Marquis MAR 81451), the second CD featuring Canada’s premier clarinetist James Campbell and his son, versatile guitarist Graham, performing duos and ensemble works with a variety of guest artists. Among the tracks are several new compositions and arrangements by Graham Campbell.

The evening also features the debut of Campbell/Afiara, a jazz-classical fusion ensemble that unites the formidable talents of James and Graham Campbell with that of the Afiara String Quartet. Campbell/Afiara brings a lush chamber sound to jazz, the infectious rhythms of Brazilian choro, and newer works.
