The Niagara neighbourhood residents’ efforts to improve the local greenspace continue to bear fruit.

Work continues at Victoria Memorial Square, site of the military burial ground associated with Fort York’s earliest casualties.

The Wellington and Niagara area parkette has been undergoing renovations since 2003, after a community group raised funds to restore and enhance the tiny green space and its historical markers.

Current improvements include new paths and new sod.

Free tai chi classes are held in the park every Thursday at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
