How New York can you get? Love this trendy high tech spot. Great for any meal during the day or evening. It is definitely a people watching spot. Mothers with their babies love to come for afternoon coffee and a pastry. The lunch scene is popular for the business people in the area and friendly gatherings. I recall recently taking my family to the Italian place next door for dinner and then coming to Hotel Gelato for dessert. I love the business card that states, “Stay for Dessert.” You will want to no matter what time of day you are visiting. My friend and I arrived mid morning and were delighted with the choices on the breakfast menu. We both opted for the Breakfast Sandwich with Citrus Cured Salmon. 2 scrambled eggs were enclosed in a Gryfe bagel (of our choice). Goat cheese and Dijon mayonnaise made it a tasty treat. ($10.00)  A lovely glass dish filled with a variety of fresh cut fruit added to the positive experience. Anthony was our server and a delight throughout. The Baked Omelettes are a specialty. They are served with toasted chiabatta bread. 3 eggs are used in the preparation with fresh herbs and a dish of fresh fruit on the side. A variety of fillings is available.

Lunch is served after 11:30 am. Hotel Gelato is known for their delicious fresh healthy salads. Nicoise Salad is a delight with tuna, green beans, cherry tomatoes, egg, nicoise olives, and onion with a Dijon dressing. ($15.00) On my last visit I enjoyed the Quinoa Salad. ($13.00) Oven roasted sweet potatoes, beetroot, baby arugula, roasted shallots, and toasted pine nuts are lightly refreshed with a basil lemon dressing.

A variety of Panini is always available. On my next visit I have targeted the Grilled Cheese with 2 year old cheddar and a jalapeno-pear chutney. ($11.00) Daily Soup varies daily and is served with rosemary- sea salt flatbread. ($8.00)

The Gelato is every bit as good as I experienced in Italy. There are many flavors from which to choose. Sampling is encouraged. The Blueberry Vanilla ($4.50) was sublime. My friend loved her Chocolate Hazelnut. Everyone is so friendly and it is an experience to come in and look around. The pastry counter also beckons. Those Lemon Tarts will have to wait for the next visit.

I find the design and ambiance very inviting. It is light and comfortable. There is enough variety and everything looks so tasty and fresh.

The Coffee is extraordinary. The flavor was rich and full flavored. My Macchiato was perfection. Many types of coffee, tea and drinks are available.  Hotel Gelato has an international flavor pleasing to everyone.
