Know your neighbourhood? Why not lead a Jane’s Walk?

The Jane’s Walk Project Office is reaching out to connect with the voices and stories of people living Downtown.

Jane’s Walk is a global movement of free, locally led walking tours inspired by iconic writer and urban activist Jane Jacobs. The walks get people to explore their cities and connect with neighbours. In 2013, there were more than 800 walks in more than 100 cities around the world. And 150 walks were held in Toronto alone!

Anyone can lead a walk.

Everyone knows something about where they live. Every perspective is important to building vibrant and healthy cities. Jane’s Walk is about sharing the stories that bring communities together.Jane-Jacobs

Anyone can lead a Walk and organizing one is easy. It involves planning a route, thinking through the stories, places, people and ideas you want to hear and talk about, and then registering it online at janeswalk.org/toronto.
