On April 25 Mervyn King, former governor of the Bank of England, will speak on his new book, “The End of Alchemy: Money, Banking, and the Future of the Global Economy.”
King will discuss money, global crises, flawed economic models, and how the banking industry has become the Achilles heel of the market economy.
This year’s DeGroote Insight Lecture takes place at the historic One King West hotel, built in 1914, housing the head office of the Dominion Bank until the 1955 merger with the Bank of Toronto.
The event runs from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Registration includes a full breakfast and a copy of Merwyn King’s book. Please note tickets are limited. Register now to avoid dissapointment.
This DeGroote Insight Lecutre is graciously supported with a philanthropic gift from Adam Felesky, Chairman of First Marketplace Group and a great friend and supporter of the DeGroote School of Business and McMaster University. Adam’s generosity and commitment to higher education help ensure that these opportunities continue to be available to our DeGroote Network. Our own Sherry Cooper, TMX Industry Professor, and Chief Economist of Domion Lending Centres will chair the event.
