Busy Sunday for Downtown police: drunks, theft

Dec. 11 was a busy Sunday for officers responding to calls.

52 Division responded to a call for assistance with a drunk at Bay and York St. at 1:50 p.m.

Three minutes later, 51 Division responded to a robbery call at Bond and Shuter, followed by another robbery call at 2:28 p.m. at Queen and Sumach.

Across town at Ryerson and Portland, 14 Division officers responded to a theft call at 2:36 p.m.

52 Division rounded up some “disorderlies” at Elm and Walton just before 3 p.m., followed a quarter hour later by a call to an ambulance pick-up at Balmuto and Bay.

An individual was being held “with trouble” by 51 Division at Breadalbane and Wellesley at 3:20 p.m. 52 Division was also holding one “with trouble” at Dundas and Bay shortly after before moving to Richmond and Shuter at 3:34 p.m. for more “disorderlies.”

“Unknown trouble” was 51 Division’s call to Carleton and Church at 3:46 p.m. This was followed by call about a fire at Dundas and Glenholme at 3:54 p.m.

The blotter at 14 Division was marked at 4 p.m. for a call re: a dispute at Tecumseth and Bathurst.

Another fire call drew officers from 51 Division to Gifford and Nasmith at 4:12 p.m. while officers from 52 Division made an arrest at Richmond and Shuter at 4:28 p.m.

Another ambulance call at 4:41 p.m. had officers from 14 Division attending at Stafford and Strachan.

51 Division officers responded to an assault call at 5 p.m. at Dundas and George.

14 Division attended a call at Lightbourn and Geary at 5:18 p.m. where a break and enter was in progress. Officers from the division also reported making an arrest at Ossington and Gordon Bell at 5:31 p.m., followed by reports of holding one “with trouble” at Fuller and Dowling minutes later.
