No more parking tickets in City of Toronto?

The City of Toronto is moving towards a new parking ticket dispute process. The current process where you receive a ticket and then challenge it through the courts would be replaced with an Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS). Under the new system, you would receive a notice of parking violation instead of a parking ticket. You would then have the option of paying the notice, or seeking an administrative review of the notice with a legally trained Screening Officer instead of taking the ticket to Court.

This is a great opportunity for the city to improve customer service by making it easier if you choose to dispute your parking violation. Making this service fair and accessible is our number one priority. Your feedback will let city hall know the customer service features that are important to you.

The survey will take an estimated five minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and no personal information will be recorded. Your responses will not impact your legal rights or be linked to your parking record or tickets you may have. If you have any questions about this survey or the new process send an e-mail to poacourteast@toronto.ca with the subject line ‘AMPS’.
