Imagine Toronto with a giant casino marring its waterfront.
That was almost a reality.
No Casino Toronto worked hard to prevent that, but we wouldn’t have been able to do it without the tools we needed. Together Toronto was a big part of that.
Using Together Toronto’s technology, thousands of concerned residents were able to send personal messages to Councillors and sway the vote.
But groups like ours won’t have access to those tools for long, unless we all take action soon. Together Toronto will be closing down soon unless we can raise the money to save it. All we need is $18,000 and we can continue to help concerned Toronto residents reach their elected officials with important messages. You can help by donating here.
Without it, community campaigns like No Casino, No Jets TO, Fair Wage and the Poverty Reduction Strategy won’t have the tools it takes to win.
Together Toronto is managed by a groups of charities, like Social Planning Toronto and other social planning councils throughout the province, dedicated to supporting communities. They make it available to community organizations trying to win battles for a better city. But with no government funding to support this critical democratic tool, groups like ours need to depend on you to keep it alive.
If you can make a donation of just $5, $10, or $25 by clicking here, we can keep reaching out to communities and helping them be heard.
Please make a contribution today!
Sincerely,
Maureen Lynett, Sheila Lynett, & Peggy Calvert
