1812 commemoration returns to Old Town streets this summer

War of 1812 re-enactors will be strolling the streets of Old Town Toronto once more as part of the St. Lawrence Market Business Improvement Area’s commemoration of the war’s bicentennial.

Performances will include first-person accounts of the war and of life in 1812 in the Town of York, which was bounded by George, Adelaide, Parliament and Front streets.

They will also visit historical locations in the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood, including the St. Lawrence Market, the First Parliament site, and St. James’ Cathedral.

The re-enactors will be performing from noon to 12:30 p.m. on June 13, 20, and 27 in Berczy Park, and June 15, 22, and 29 in Market Lane Park.

Performances will continue in July and August.
