Store owner Michael Granat wants to retire, travel and write

After 15 years as a health-food store owner with three locations, including Vital Planet, formerly in the North St. Lawrence Market from which he relocated a couple of year ago, Michael Granat is retiring.

He plans to write a humour book about…Michael Granat. His current St. Lawrence Neighbourhood location is at 53 Lower Jarvis and it’s the last of his stores to go on the block.

A resident of Hamilton, Granat says he’s basically interested in selling the stock and the TCHC business leasehold so he can leave soon. He says he’s willing to orient a new purchaser and has established a loyal and trained staff who would remain.

“I want to travel and I’ve trimmed down my lifestyle,” says Granat, who was trained as a lawyer but found the actual practice of law unrewarding.

Real estate agent Bob Bahreinian, a specialist in selling Downtown businesses, is the listing agent for Vital Planet. He recently found a purchaser for Nu-Image Beauty Salon and Barber Shop on Sherbourne, a neighbourhood fixture for decades.
