Turning up the heat on daffodil pin sales in Toronto!

Toronto’s firefighters are used to extricating people who have been pinned in car accidents and from other precarious situations, but this week they will be the ones doing the pinning! To show their support for people living with cancer, members of the Toronto Professional Firefighters’ Association will host a daffodil pin sales blitz in support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Month.

Torontonians are invited to come down to the concourse level of the Hudson’s Bay Centre (near Shoppers Drug Mart) on April 13 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM to buy a daffodil pin and get their photo taken with firefighters!

Money raised during Daffodil Month funds life-saving research, support services and other important work for Canadians touched by the disease. Last year, the Society’s support services helped more than 9,500 people in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Toronto Professional Firefighters’ Association members are among 7,000 volunteers who are selling daffodil pins across Ontario. As part of National Volunteer Week (April 10 to 17), the Canadian Cancer Society would like to recognize and thank all of its dedicated volunteers for being heroes in their communities.
