Terrazza

Annabelle Goodman —

My favorite neighborhood spot. Frankie Lasagna (real name) has made such a success of this former car repair spot. It has been transformed into a little paradise. The décor is aesthetically pleasing and so welcoming. How the chefs ever cook in that little front kitchen amazes me. Such wondrous dishes appear and it never fails. Frankie is the chef and owner. His mother makes the best chocolate cake. I can’t leave without a portion of that wonderful dessert. On this occasion Rachel, the sister, had returned from university and was helping as a server. She was so delightful. I always feel as if I am part of the family. No wonder it is always booked. Daniel was our server for the evening. The place is so friendly that Daniel introduced us to his girlfriend and her mother. Sort of like a family gathering. I actually crave the food here. My guest and I had just seen a wondrous film about a gourmet trip through Italy.  We were starving for some good pasta.

The Pasta is always al dente and served hot. That is so important to me. It is served in a large white bowl and the portion is overly generous. We both opted for the Shrimp Linguine. There were numerous plump flavorful shrimp imbedded in that flavorful fresh tomato sauce. I changed from the linguine to gluten free pasta.   I thank them for carrying this product. Every bite was an ‘ooh and an ahh.” What were others enjoying? I always have to look around to see what the big winner of the evening is. Daniel told us the pasta is the most popular.

In the past I have enjoyed Pizza. There are many choices. It is thin, crisp and the toppings are very generous.  The Grilled Salmon has been my choice many times. It is served with potatoes and vegetables. The salmon was moist and perfectly prepared. If you saw the small kitchen you would marvel at what comes out from that teeny space. A friend of mine loves the Lamb Chops and has enjoyed that on several occasions.

Hamburgers are huge and fully stacked. I think it is safe to say the menu will offer everyone a choice. The Salads are amazing. You will want to share because they are large and filled with various fresh ingredients. The food is well prepared and beautifully served. The friendly atmosphere will make you feel at home. Save room for the small loaf chocolate cakes. Superb. It s served with ice cream and fresh berries.

Family run businesses attract my attention. I love to see a success story like this. Frankie Lasagna never went to cooking school. He and his sous chefs are wondrous. I always make sure I thank them when I leave. You can’t miss them. You practically walk into their working space when you enter. On a nice evening the little terrace is most inviting. Love it all!
