St. Lawrence community saves 120 tonnes of greenhouse emissions

The smartliving St. Lawrence (slSL) project will launch an ambitious energy efficiency campaign on Feb. 20 thanks to the generous support of the Ontario Ministry of Energy, the Trillium Foundation of Ontario and the Toronto Atmospheric Fund.

The program will launch at 2 p.m. at Old York Tower, 85 The Esplanade.

From January to March, slSL will deliver 20 conservation workshops and distribute 2500 energy-efficient light bulbs to local condo and co-op residents. In exchange for committing to the Conservation Council of Ontario’s Lighten Up, Ontario pledge, 1200 area residents will receive a free energy-efficient light to help them start conserving energy.

A collaborative project of Eneract and the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association, smartliving St. Lawrence is a unique community sustainability program that is working with local residents, businesses and community organizations to foster a greener environment, a healthier community and a stronger local economy.
