Santa stops traffic: downtown road closures Sunday

A series of road and lane closures and intermittent delays will take place this weekend to accommodate the Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, November 19.

Sunday closures and intermittent delays (between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.):

Bloor Street, from Christie Street to Ossington Avenue, will be closed Sunday, November 19 from 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the set-up and formation area for the parade.

The parade route includes a number of full road and lane closures from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. as follows:

  • Bloor Street, from Christie Street to Queen’s Park
  • Queen’s Park/University Avenue, from Bloor Street to Queen Street (including Queen’s Park Circle East)
  • Queen Street, from University Avenue to Yonge Street
  • Yonge Street, from Queen Street to Front Street
  • Front Street, from Yonge Street to Church Street

Front Street, from Church Street to Jarvis Street, will also be closed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate the dispersal of the parade.

The public is encouraged to use public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient, alternative choice whenever possible.
