Regent Park Learning Centre opens

The Regent Park Centre of Learning was inaugurated Nov. 1 in crowded room filled with area residents and the city’s edu-cratic elites, including Anne Sado, president of George Brown College, Sheldon Levy, president of Ryerson University and University of Toronto Prof. Cheryl Regehr, Vice Provost: Academic Programs.

The centre is aimed at serving Regent Park residents and assisting them in many aspects of continuing education and education upgrading.

A key player is Daniels Corp., which contributed heavily to the new facility on Dundas St. E. at Sackville.

The inaugural celebration was followed by a panel six on Spanning the Gaps to Education.

It included Moderator O’Neil Edwards of Ryerson, MPP Glen Murray, Councillor Pam McConnell, Martin Blake, V.P. of Daniels Corp., Rahul K. Bhardwaj, President of Toronto Community Foundation, Ken Greenberg, Architect & Urban Planner (Greenberg Consultants) and Jason Creed of Pathways to Education.
