Scarboro bozo Norm Kelly favours jets on Toronto Island

Once again fiction trumps reality at City Hall with Norm Kelly’s push for jets on Toronto’s waterfront. While agreeing to a staff-requested short-term deferral, Kelly seems disconnected from reality in his explanation.  “Norm Kelly’s reasoning that jets on our waterfront will help us get the Olympics is ridiculous and alarming,” NoJetsTO chair Anshul Kapoor said.

No Jets TO objects to Kelly’s lack of objectivity & common sense

“Apparently Kelly hasn’t neither studied the staff report nor the Board of Health decision on the jet issue.”In his letter to the Executive Committee and City Clerk, Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly waxes about the benefits of putting a major jet airport on Toronto’s central waterfront, oblivious to the red flags raised by City staff.“Kelly apparently aspires to be the mayor of Deluce, not the millions of Torontonians who enjoy their waterfront,” Kapoor continued. “The Deputy Mayor’s letter shows a total disregard for public health and safety – and the vision for our waterfront.” “At least Kelly acknowledges that the provincial government should get involved – but maybe he misspoke,” the NoJetsTO chair added.

“Kelly should have attended this week’s consultation to learn about the issue, not engage in pro-jets propaganda.”

NoJetsTO is a coalition of concerned citizens dedicated to preserving Toronto’s mixed-use waterfront and a boutique Island Airport.

Representing residents across Toronto, the non-partisan organization NoJetsTO opposes the expansion of the Island Airport through jet aircraft and extended runways. NoJetsTO’s goal is to preserve the status quo at the Island Airport by protecting the Tripartite Agreement that governs it.
