Nat gas venting operation is over

Enbridge Gas Distribution (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) has finished venting natural gas in eastern Toronto in the area of Eastern Avenue and Broadview Avenue. People may have noticed the smell and sound of natural gas as it was released in a safe and controlled manner Sept. 8 & 9.

Natural gas was vented to allow for critical work on the Don Valley pipeline that runs underneath Bayview Avenue before the fall heating season. Controlled natural gas venting is a standard maintenance practice.

If anyone suspects a natural gas leak in their area, please call Enbridge Gas Distribution’s 24-7 emergency line at 1-866-763-5427 (1-866-SMELGAS). Enbridge Gas Distribution will be venting natural gas today, September 9. People in the area of Eastern Avenue and Broadview Avenue in Toronto and possibly Beechwood Drive near Pape Avenue and O’Connor Drive may notice the smell and sound of natural gas venting as it is released in a safe and controlled manner.
