Nathan Phillips Square rink closed for skating

The ice rink at Nathan Phillips Square will be closed Jan. 24 to accommodate “Paintings Below Zero”—part of Toronto’s upcoming WinterCity Festival. Artist Gordon Halloran of British Columbia will create an ice painting directly on the rink surface, allowing skaters to glide across his design.

The rink is expected to re-open for public skating on Jan. 25.

WinterCity runs from Jan. 26 to Feb. 8.
