Toronto Marlies and TDSB Students Help Support Children Across Toronto – When the Toronto Marlies take to the ice, they will be battling more than just the Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning Affiliate). They will also be assisting in the fight against child poverty.
The February 22nd event features a special 11 a.m. start time to allow participation from the TDSB which will be sending nearly 7,000 enthusiastic young fans from 85 different schools to the game.
TDSB/TFSS 8th annual Day at the Marlies, a joint effort between the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, is expected to raise nearly $20,000 in support of student programs at Toronto schools in need. In addition to creating one of the more boisterous cheering sections at any Toronto venue, TDSB students will participate in pre-game ceremonies and students from Humbercrest PS will perform the Canadian and American national anthems.
