On Feb. 6, students from TDSB schools will be competing in the “Sport of Reading.”

Students from 85 schools across the GTA will gather at 10 a.m. at Ryerson University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre (50 Carlton St. at Church) where Kids’ Lit Quiz, the Sport of Reading, will hold one of its regional finals.

Excited students with a passion for reading will work together in teams of four to answer questions from a variety of categories.

Like sport, the quiz challenges readers on many levels as teams work to answer questions on children’s books.

A number of guest authors will also be on hand for this lively literacy event.

The teams of avid readers will compete to become a national quiz whiz team finalist. Finalist teams from each round advance to the Canadian Nationals on Feb. 8 to vie for the opportunity to represent Canada at the Kids’ Lit Quiz World Final in Toronto later this summer.
