Liberty Village to host Midnite New Year’s Eve Run

Second Annual MyNextRace.com New Year’s Eve Midnite Run, snow be dammed!

By Peter Donato –

newyearAs the organizers of Canada’s first-ever Midnite Run we are preparing for all weather scenarios to accommodate the 300 runners and walkers expected. I’m the owner of MyNextRace.com, Title Sponsor of the Event and Race Director. I’m excited to follow up on last year’s debut run, and looking forward this year to doubling in both participants and scope Monday evening.

Last year we had amazing weather, some runners even wore shorts, but this year I think that strategy will change.  We’ll have hot soup and champagne at the finish line in addition to many tents and heaters to keep everyone warm.

The Start/Finish line is in the Liberty Market Galleria (171 East Liberty Street), with five restaurants and bars within 50 metres of each other, the ideal setting for a party to break out afterwards.

The run is also supporting a great cause, the Fort York Food Bank, so all participants and spectators are asked to bring canned and dry goods with them.

Registration continues online until Midnight, Saturday Dec 29, and in person at the Liberty Village Running Room Sunday and Monday.  If the 300 person Cap is not reached there will be limited on-site registration at Aroma Café starting at 10pm (check the website for updates).

All entries include winter running gloves, a $30 Goodie Bag, post run finishers medal, hot and cold food and champagne at the finish line. The first Steamwhistle beer is also included.

MyNextRace.com, Canada’s best Race Calendar with its unique Banana Review rating system, started in Canada and targets largely a North American audience, but continues to grow and includes a number of international events as well and informs athletes about races in key markets around the world. It provides information for members of Generation Active, including runners, cyclists, adventure racers, obstacle racing and triathlons.
