Flanders: Waterfront condos not the kind of focus we need

To Mayor Miller:

The proposed condos at the foot of Yonge Street expose this city’s total lack of vision for what could be. People are against waterfront condos, but they can’t imagine what an amazing focal point this site could be. The citizens of Sidney, Australia saw what a magnificent opera house could do for their city’s image, and built one. All we do in Toronto is wring our hands and lament that we have no control over our future. What is needed is leadership from you as mayor of this city. We need you to recognize how vital this site is for the future of the water front. We need you show us what this site could be. We need you to act before the amazing potential of this place is lost for future generations.
