Distress centre seeks volunteers for rewarding experience

Here is a chance for local residents to truly make a difference in the lives of those in need in the community. The Distress Centres team is seeking volunteers to provide emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to those in need of life-sustaining emotional support. The opportunity promises a unique, challenging and extremely rewarding volunteer experience.
There is always a life on the line — someone in the community in despair, feeling hopeless with nowhere to turn, who’s calling the 24/7 distress lines for support. Volunteers help to ensure that no call goes unanswered.
A comprehensive training program is provided. For more information, call the Downtown Distress Centre at 416-598-0166, or visit www.torontodistresscentre.com
