Condominium developments continue to flourish within Toronto, North America’s condo capital. Unfortunately, this abundance of new city living space has brought on an overwhelming trend of small, cookie-cutter, glass-boxes-in-the-sky.
Enter Identity Developments’ O2 Maisonettes on George, a new boutique condo project working to break this trend through architectural and interior design excellence. Dubbed “the uncondo”, O2 is everything your typical condo is not: spacious flats, two story ‘maisonettes’, modern street level town homes, glass-wall architecture, open-riser staircases, and imported European designs throughout.
A fresh take on condo living, O2’s Designer Ready package is what truly makes this condo stand out. Unique to other condos in the city, O2 offers an exclusive Designer Ready option for the full customization of any unit purchased. Through this endeavour, owners are provided the opportunity to create their luxurious dream home at a downtown address.
Designer Ready suites begin as a raw condo space, providing a blank canvas for any desired design. Everything from floor plan adjustments to cabinet hardware, wall colours, and anything else in between can be handpicked. Purchasers work one-on-one with O2’s talented in-house interior design team to bring their vision to life. 3D renderings are provided to help clients visualize and control their designs every step of the way. Even more, a design credit is awarded for the full customization of Designer Ready suites, accommodating the finishes deducted to create these raw units.
Kate Boron, head interior designer of O2, has already begun working alongside several clients in preparation of their Designer Ready suites. “If you want standard finishes, you can choose any condo in the city,” says Boron, “but with O2, we help you create a home – not just a place to live”. The designer also notes Designer Ready as an experience that broadens design knowledge and expectations, “often clients are surprised by the vast options and level of customization possible”.
Offering some of the most advanced tile, kitchen, and bath products, upscale Porcelanosa finishes have become a choice product line for Designer Ready suites. These high-end European designs are fitting amongst the building’s overall aesthetic – Bildtec, a partner of Porcelanosa, will outfit O2’s exterior with its innovative porcelain facade technology. This design feature will mark Bildtec’s first Canadian project by way of its European counterpart.
Over 70% sold, units remain available at O2 Maisonettes. Construction is currently under way at the condo’s centrally located address, just minutes away from Toronto’s Dundas square. O2’s 146 Dupont Street, 2nd floor Showroom and Décor Centre near Designers Walk in the heart of Toronto’s design district is open five days a week, by appointment only.
