CUPE to leaflet at subways

In advance of the provincial Throne Speech

By Craig Saunders –

Leaflet distMembers of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will leaflet at subway stations surrounding Queen’s Park on Tuesday, in advance of the provincial Throne Speech.

“Collective bargaining and independent contract arbitration are important not just to union members, but to all Ontarians,” said CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn. “We are raising awareness about those benefits, which include parental leave and workplace safety standards. We will be watching the Throne speech for a clear statement from the government that they will not pursue their attacks on these important rights.”

Fred Hahn will attend the Throne Speech and will be available for comment at Queen’s Park afterwards.

Members will begin leafleting at 7:45 a.m. outside Queen’s Park subway station.
