Co-op turns 25

By Ann Kennedy –

Windward-by-the-LakeWindward Co-operative Homes at 34 Little Norway Crescent will celebrate a landmark 25th anniversary on June 2.

Perched on the north shore of the Western Gap, the co-op is surrounded by green parks and sparkling water. Member-tended gardens have won awards for their beauty year after year.

The celebration begins at 2:30 p.m. and will include special guests MPP Rosario Marchese, Co-operative Housing Federation Toronto representative Tom Clement and Patrick Newman from Co-operative Housing Federation Canada. Local historian Marilyn Roy will escort Windwardians down memory lane. Toronto aerialist Emily Hughes (of the Hercinia Arts Collective) and the Harbourfront Community Chorus will entertain.  The afternoon will culminate in the dedication of a time capsule in the courtyard.

Former members are welcome to attend.
