Participants who attend this social gathering receive instruction in period dance, experience an authentically-prepared Georgian buffet supper and then go on to enjoy an evening of English country dancing.

Each year, the day begins with an illustrated talk, and for the 14th annual event,

Dr. Larry Ostola, Director of Museum and Heritage Services with the City of Toronto, will be the featured speaker. He will discuss the Treaty of Ghent and the promise of peace after the war of 1812, the theme of this year’s event.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!

Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.
