The Old Cabbagetown BIA invites public comments on the new streetscape proposals being advanced for the business improvement area.
The long-awaited proposals are the result of a study that was funded in part by the city. The goal of the streetscape improvement projects is to “build on the strength and historic character of the Old Cabbagetown BIA through physical improvements which are place-appropriate and which constribute to the social, economic and ecological sustainability of the area.”
The proposals, which were revealed on March 30, are available online at www.sunarts.ca. “Follow the cabbage,” advises the BIA’s Doug Fisher. The 31-page document outlines detailed plans for Parliament, Carlton, and Gerrard streets, with in-depth descriptions of greening plans, building materials, shadow studies, and more.
