51 div seeks public help in Dundas & Parliament assault

Police are seeking the public’s assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

  • on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at approximately 3:15 a.m., the victim, a 20-year-old woman, got into a taxi near the intersection of Peter Street and Richmond Street.
  • the suspect (a male taxi driver), drove the victim to the area of Parliament Street, north of Dundas Street East,
  • after paying the fare, the victim got out and began walking, when she was approached by the suspect on foot,
  • the suspect engaged the victim in conversation and then sexually assaulted her,
  • the suspect then fled in his vehicle.

The suspect is described as brown with a dark complexion, 5’8” to 5’9”, 45 to 50, brown eyes, average build, with short, dark, balding hair. He was wearing silver-rimmed glasses, grey or dark nylon winter jacket, and jeans.

The vehicle is described as a newer-model Ford Windstar-style minivan, with dual sliding doors, olive green with beige or tan cloth interior with an illuminated taxi light on the roof.
