  1. Later life learning instructor James A. S. Thompson gives an illustrated lecture on Queen Victoria’s impact on Canada on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 between 7 and 9 pm at the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, 106 Trinity Street, Toronto, ON M5A 3C6. Tickets ($10) at the door or online.

    Refreshments are served at 6:30 pm.

    In this session, Thompson reveals the Queen Victoria beyond the phrase “We are not amused”. He describes her relationship with Canada, explains how her picture came to be in classrooms across Canada, and concludes with why at the time of the queen’s death, people said of Victoria: “she wrought her people lasting good”.

    His talk coincides with the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth.

  2. The performances are 3:30-5:15 and 7:30-9:15 start and end times May 31, June 1 and June 2. The location address 585 Dundas St. East for Native Earth’s Aki Theatre, Daniels Spectrum is not one of the location options.
