Letter: Keep green space in our neighbourhood.

On Nov. 13, the Old York Tower hosted a meeting for all the residents in the five adjoining buildings 1 Church, where I live, Older Woman's Network, New Hibrit, Old York Towers and 55 The Esplanade.

Representatives from TCHC co-ordinator of Regent Park programs for kids, the principal
of St. Michael School, City Parks and Rec. and coordinators from Moss Park were in attendance.

Ronny Yaron from The SLNA has told people that a lot of funding for kids programs are available.

The only problem I have with this meeting is the sign. It mentions what to do with our green space as some tenants want this area cemented in. With so little green space left in the
city.

Many dog owners were in attendance as they feared that our little backyard at 1 Church St.
would be done away with. As the sign stated about the meeting "what to do with our back yard."

Nancy Evans our Property Manager was also at this meeting.

I just happened to mention my dog, that's 14, needs this facility at 3 a.m., if he needs to go out he needs this yard. The nearest place if our yard was gone would be to go to the New Hibrit Co-ops grass.

More meetings are on the agenda for future plans for kids. I am thinking of starting an area
Dog Association. As the dogs are better behaved than the kids around here!
