TTC has too many customers ???

Print this story

Now from the brain trust that operates the Toronto Transit Commission comes word we need fewer riders. The TTC is just too crowded with passengers, so we’ll trim their numbers by about 6 million this year with a fare hike. Even more will find alternative means of transportation in the future and TTC will be in balance. More former riders will opt out of transit.

That way TTC will be able to continue spending millions of dollars with construction companies and railcar manufacturers to clog our streets with ultra expensive streetcars to frustrate those who’ve been forced into other ways to get around. Mayor Dumbo is in accord with this as is his deputy, the city’s Cement Advocate, Joe Pants, who like the mayor, is also in favour of the Front Street Extension construction boondoggle.

And of course TTC will be able to spend Doofus McGuinty’s $30 mil for extending the subway to Developerville and that empty land in Vaughan so that people who don’t live in and pay taxes in Toronto can get down here on our subway.

McGuinty was bent on enriching those who own the empty land in Vaughan, which will become precious with a new subway stop. They’re his pals. They’ll build condos.

Instead of using that money to fix our buses, add drivers and keep the system growing, it’s being wasted on hiring companies to break up concrete, pour new concrete and dig more holes. Lucky companies. Poor public.
